Dr Jimson Olufuye, Principal Consultant at Kontemporary Konsulting and Chair of the Advisory Council of the Afrca ICT Alliance - AfICTA, has been appointed by the United Nations Group on the Information Society (UNGIS) as a member of its Multistakeholder Consultation Group (UNGIS-MCG), Also appointed to be part of the UNGIS-MCG is Engr Hossam Elgamal, former Chair of AfICTA, bringing together representatives from governments, the private sector, civil society, the technical community, academia and international organizations.
Building on the outcomes of the WSIS+20 Review and its emphasis on strengthening multistakeholder dialogue and cooperation, the UNGIS-MCG will serve as an advisory and consultative platform to facilitate regular information sharing on UNGIS priorities and gather perspectives and feedback from diverse stakeholder communities.
